IRB Intro Post #1
The book I chose to read for my first Independent Reading Book is entitled The Nazi Officer's Wife by Edith Hahn Beer. Edith wrote about her experience as a Jewish woman living as the wife of a Nazi Officer during Hitler's reign. I was immediately intrigued because it is so unlike most accounts of the Holocaust. In the past, I have read many memoirs that take place during this time, and it usually includes people being captured and placed in concentration camps. I have really enjoyed those stories, but I am incredibly excited to read from this new perspective.
